Night 1 of WineBoyz Wineapalooza. Tasted blind. Dark red, almost opaque. High-pitched nose with notes of red maraschino cherries, dark fruit, some earth, some mahogany. Big core of fruit, seems to be from a warm vintage and has some age. Lots of debate about this wine. One person thinks it's Italian, another thinks it might be Syrah. I'm in Burgundy and guess 90 Ponsot CdlR. Interesting when the reveal happens. Bottle is a leaker, looked a bit beat up. I had a bottle of this two weeks ago which was more inspiring and in much better condition. Still, very nice…

Mar 26th, 2022Deep scarlet color. Almost opaque. Exotic nose. Notes of black fruit, blueberries, slate stone, some menthol and some cranberry. Tight at first but with 4 hours of air this blossomed. Very rich. Finish last forever. But the nose on this thing is@most memorable. Great juice!

Ooh. This is a seriously seductive wine. An opulent nose with rich blue fruit, blood, hints of leather, soft cherry, some lifted floral notes on the nose. In that perfect window of maturity where there s all kinds of complexity but the fruit is still there, but settled. A gamey, meaty midpalate with mint and dried herbs. Plush and great motion from first taste to the end palate which is long with superb balance. Really great stuff

Feb 29th, 2020From a perfect looking bottle. Deep reddish purple color with lighter rims. Exotic nose with notes of black fruit, menthol, iron, some dry brush and a little blueberry. Silky smooth in the mouth with a strong core of young fruit aligned with massive structure that serves a long finish. Turns the teeth red from one sip. Huge impact. Great now but I think this can develop to be something even bigger with more age. I’ll wait for a few years before I touch one again.
