This is a dark and layered bueaty of a wine, showing crushed stone, black cherry, dried roses, and exotic spice. With time in the glass it gained depth, adding rich raspberry, hints of moist soil and truffle. Displaying mineral-driven, silky textures contrasted by a core of vibrant acidity on the palate. Black cherry, licorice, sweet herbs and menthol all flowed effortlessly across the senses. It finished on fine tannin with dried cherry and inner floral tones lingering long.

The inaugural vintage of Barolo from the Cerretta vineyard. Bottled only in large format but a couple of 750s made for samples!

Have tasted on two occasions. I have found a toasted wood aroma both times. The fruit is fairly open as well. Hard wine to figure.

First vintage as Barolo. Quite forward for 2010 with sweet tannins.
