Early. But wow. A bold muscular effort from Bordeaux well done ch. Beychevelle #beychevelle boom. Lots of life left but drinking really well.

Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating the holiday! Enjoying some lovely wine with an unconventional meal of filet mignon to go with an unconventional year to say the least.

👃 It has medium(+) intensity in aromas that are developing. The aromas include primary notes of ripe black cherry, red cassis, prune, violet, licorice, and secondary notes of vanilla, cedar, nutmeg, clove, and tertiary notes of forest floor, leather, dried prune and fig.

👄 On the palate this wine is dry, it has medium (+) acidity, a full body, medium alcohol, chewy tannins, and medium intensity in flavors consistent with the nose which include primary notes of ripe black cherry, red cassis, prune, violet, licorice, and secondary notes of vanilla, cedar, nutmeg, clove, and tertiary notes of forest floor, leather, dried prune and fig. The finish is medium (+).

The colour is evolved for this 2009, the wine presents very well but looks older, spices , liquorice and black fruit very pleasant to drink now, tanins are silky and well integrated, good wine but I don't know how it will be in 15 years...
