A newbie but a goodie, Cabernet Sauvignon with roast beef in a brandy and port wine sauce.

The Okanagan Valley is known much better for Cab Franc than Cab Sauv, but this youngster from Mission Hill holds its own. Classic Cab Sauv characteristics and structure. Cassis, blackberries and a hint of toast from oak, but not too much.

Wonderful structure and balance with flavors of black fruit, anise, mocha, vanilla and delightful spices. This smooth Okanagan will be a frequent visitor to home. Cheers πŸ·πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

You would think for a reserve you would get a product well deserving of its medium to high price tag. We got this on sale from a store going out of business and still paid over 25. I am sorry but this one fell really flat...lack of character up front which in turn fell completely flat on the finish.

Not too shabby. Can’t imagine it’s easy to make a decent red in πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦.

Higher acidity than I was expecting. Firm tannins that need a bit of air and some meat. Pretty well balanced, though. Muted nose. Some nice chocolate on the finish.
