Candied Apple, ginger honeysuckle and saline if that’s even possible. Loooong. Probably on last legs as acidity was just moderate.

Lovely. Not as tense and coiled as I remembered it, but in a pretty place currently.

While the '12 Taillepieds was last night's standout, the wine I simply can't get out of my head from yesterday's tasting is the '13 Cailleret. At first a whiff of lemony citrus with hints of yellow flowers lifted from the glass, yet with a few swirls, a wave of wet stone and minerals joined the fray along with crisp green apple. On the palate, lean textures fleshed out quickly upon the senses with a lashing of mineral-driven acidity and citrus tinged granny smith. The finish was long and mouthwatering with hints of tart grapefruit and herbs. What a wild ride. Wow!

Excellent stuff, needs a decant & a bit of warmth, but when open & blossoming there's not much you can ask for in high end 1er Cru Bourgogne.

This showed really well, don't think it was stored correctly though, but great to see it out there.

Well, this is defiantly within the royalty of what this appellation is capable of, a little reduction, but there is an intensity of minerality/citrus & just the right amount of oak, Etienne you've got this one right.

Lots of verve and energy. Bright and focused nose, but broad and open on the palette. Supporting evidence for my claim that Chardonnay is my favorite grape.. #burgundy #lapaulee2016 #demontille
