Dark ruby in color with a short brick rim.

On the nose, black currants, plums, wood, licorice, dark chocolates, black pepper, graphite, earth, bitter herbs, spices, green vegetables and dark coffee.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.

Very dry on the palate with black currants, raspberries, sour cherries, earth, wood, licorice, spices, dark coffee, bell pepper, pencil lead, earth, vegetables, bitter herbs, wet leaves and peppercorn.

Nice length on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.

This 11 year old Spanish red is still drinking nicely with a great mouthfeel. Not fully balanced any longer, but showing great complexity.

Needs an hour to open up properly and show some tannins.

I paired it with Spanish tapas and nice friends.

Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

87 Points.

$12.

Another wine with a big "94" rating on the bottle to lure in suckers like me. Not that great.

Complex yet accessible, and drinking incredibly well after aging 14 years! A rich nose full of blueberry & plum with tertiary aromas of tobacco & milk chocolate.  Continues to a well balanced palate with medium-high tannins & bright acidity with flavors of stewed fruits & raisin with allspice, leather & sage present through a long finish.  Even not accounting for the price this is an outstanding wine, and a perfect pairing for 24 hour dry aged strip streak! ($12)  [1/18/21]

Tasted over 6 hours. I'll taste this again with a more technical note, but suffice it to say this doesn't suck.
