Initially quite oaky but then it's a dark, delicious, well balanced and powerful wine with a beautiful nose of dark ripe berries and cherries and just a hint of pickled plums and tobacco leafs. Velvety textured, it is sweet, rich and persistent on the palate, with plummy aromas and a well balancing acidity. I opened the bottle two days ago and it is still going strong, with a slight oxidation that I love. Reminds me of a well matured Brunello di Montalcino but with more elegance. Happy to have kept this Agiorgitiko for so many years untouched. Unhappy to share it with myself only. ;-)

2014 Gaia Agiorgitiko & Live Evil. This the first time I’ve paid attention to drinking a Greek red with Miles Davis. Along with the home roasted chicken using Zuni Cafe’s recipe, this is a winning combo all around.

Straight forward expression of the grape. Rustic and grippy but not overly so... Definitely a food wine. This bottle is screaming for a steak. ...can you hear it?

I'm becoming a big fan of this grape. Boldly fruity and a little grippy, nice little bit of funkiness to mix things up. Perfect partner for lamb kebabs.
