Rutherford Petite Sirah

I tasted this wine in NAPA a few weeks ago. We liked it so much that we bought two bottles to bring home. It simply is one of the best I have ever tasted. Doing the whole bottle is so much better than tasting!

2009 in 2016. Bright dense violet coating the glass. Rich dark blue fruit- smooth integrated tannins.

One of our Napa trip bottles. This is a very elegant grape. Really fresh tasting fruit. Velvety mouthfeel...totally different vibe than the usual big bold cabs, etc. that we usually drink. Would be the perfect pair with some firm cheese. This is kind of a farm-to-table, boutique vineyard, but I have seen it a handful of restaurants down here.

I liked it with turkey leftovers but my husband gave it a lower rating - feels bitter. I enjoyed it.

When it is so good. Rich: so rich and fruit forward without at all being fruity. Blind tasting it kept bringing me down the rabbit hole of a cab...
