Sample bottle, open too long. Warmed and roasted cherry.

Great red-brown color. Too ripe cherry with plenty of oak, yet balanced, over ripe plum, tasty!

Not loving this anywhere as much as the white

Even this basic Ciró puts me in a sentimental mood, bright yet just seductive & voluptuous enough. I adore the more expensive Duca de San Felice version of Gagglioppo, and whenever anybody starts yapping about loving big, burly reds I just want to give them Librandi's Magno Megonio & watch the astonishment grow!

2012. Decent enough when given a good chill, definitely much better on second swig and with red sauce dishes.

This wine has very racy acidity and interesting tannin structure. Reminiscent of Nebbiolo. Great value and worth a try.

A little hot. Licorice and strawberries. Lighter than I was expecting.

From Calabria region. 100% Gaglioppo varietal. Characteristics similar to Sangiovese. Cranberry, concrete-chalk, stewed plum.

Ok, medium bodied but I'll stick to the San Felice

2015 Slightly resinous? I feel like I would like it better paired with the right food.
