Not decanted. Initial vanilla oak notes blew off. Floral notes - palate was seamless and delicious with soft black fruits (raspberry), hints of game and liquorice. From vines initially planted in 1853 by Friedrich Koch. Likely to be the oldest Mourvèdres vineyard in the world. Must buy more.

Without a doubt the coolest Aussie wine I've ever had. Every wine geek would call France on a wine under screwcap from 161 year old vines. Earth, purple, mouvedre, the shit, purple, depth, length, damn, rhubarb, blackberry, different, wow just loving this for all that it is.
And if you don't eat at Winebelly when in Austin you're making a mistake.

Always good to get a style of wine one likes and doubly good when it is done well. Tar and leather - very savoury. Palate is concentrated and long. Enjoyable. 17+

Showed a bit more alcohol this time, but still an amazing wine. From the oldest vines on Earth!
