Homemade pizza and wine, you can’t go wrong am I right?

Firstly a big thank you to Narelle King the lead winemaker and owner of Tar & Roses and Modern Currency for sending this sample my way. This 2019 Pinot Grigio is made here in Victoria and I thought it’d be a nice accompaniment to pizza 🍕 night.

This new label from Tar & Roses is a subtle nod to the strength of family, and showcases wine inspired and made by women 🙌 #womeninwine

In the glass it’s a pretty yellow-peach colour. The nose is full of juicy pears and fresh citrus with a sprinkling of savoury herbs. It’s definitely a food friendly wine as it was perfect with our pizza 👌 It has a nice silky texture, nearly like a light syrup with a refreshing acidic bite. Think pears, peaches and orange acidity.

This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

A lovely light rose gold colour, very mellow easy drinking. Not strong on the nose with particularly notable scents, has a nice mouth feel sitting on the back of the tongue. Isn't acidic and would go with a load of different foods. For the price point ($19.99 au) this is a wine I would go back to.

Dry, drinkable. Quite orange in colour. When it hits the palate, it’s kinda watery but I don’t mind this, is smooth. The lingering flavour has more depth.

Too much alcohol, someone has tried hard to make this ... but it is more or less battery acid in a wine bottle
