Punching well able it's weight but difficult to identify as most people haven't had an unoaked Bordeaux Merlot of this age. Nice nose of red plums - still quite a lot of fruit; tannins present but fully assimilated and nice acidity. Everyone guessed Cru Bourgeois or above!

Magnum for Christmas Eve dinner 2019 with Baptiste (and also over Thanksgiving dinner 2019). Need about 2 hours to fully open up. Excellent wine for the money.

Sep 13th, 2018Lots of ripe red fruits and even some blueberry perhaps.... Tertiary aromas of leather, smoke and cedar. The tannins were a lot silkier and refined than anticipated for this right bank merlot. Well balanced, good acidity and all in all going down quite nicely. :)
