The 2019 La Colombina combines quality and value to a degree that is rare for a Rosso di Montalcino. Roses, wild herbs, plums and saddle leather create a classic bouquet. It’s rich with red fruits, licorice and violet on the palate, with a coating of fine tannins that lingers. $20.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, March 2022)

Smooth tannins and rich black cherry. A lovely red from the #humblegrape

I loved this #humblegrape Great Sangiovese in a controlled, subtle style. Much fruitier than a Brunello, reminded me of the Christmas pannetone I purchased this week -- the black cherries and dark chocolate one! Great balance, acidity, rich silky tannins and a long finish. What more does one want?
