2017 Castello di Ama L’Apparita was the wine that I pulled for the evening. Italian Merlot. Ama is an old, fortified village situated near Radda and Gaiole in the heart of the Chianti Classico region. On the nose, intense dark berries. A full bodied wine with layers of beautiful ripe fruit. Perfect balance. Stellar finish. Stunning. — a year ago
Brilliance in a bottle.
2020 Chargement - Allbaer Sangiovese. New world Sangiovese. Stunning nose. Ripe fruit. This is a beautifully powerful wine. The first sip and you know you’re getting something incredible. Find if you can. I got lucky and grabbed a few when @classic__wine offered.
How we Friday pizza night when my parents are visiting.

2019 Ridge Lytton Springs is a classic California field blend. It is made up of 73% Zinfandel, 16% Petite Sirah, 9% Carignane, and 2% Mataro. The vineyard is located in Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma County. Dark red fruit on the nose with a bit of spice. Brambly intense fruit on the palate. Supple tannins. Really nice acidity and a lengthy finish. Drinks well now and will likely be even better in a few years. — a year ago
This is a beautiful coastal Pinot Noir.
2021 Raen Fort Ross Seaview Pinot Noir gives all the good stuff that those cool climate Pinots offer. Delicate. Nuanced. Best to decant this one and then let it further evolve in the glass. Easy to get excited about this producer.

Kabinett rieslings are typically described as barely sweet and wonderfully refreshing. The 2021 Peter Lauer Saar Schonfels 111 Riesling comes from the coolest part of the region known as the Mosel. Look no further if you want both gentle sweetness and searing acidity. Low-key classy and only 7.5%ABV.

Catching up. I picked the 2018 00 VGW (Very Good White) because it was the perfect complement to a relaxing evening. Grapes are sourced from Eola-Amity Hills, in Willamette Valley. Balanced beautifully. Rich texture. Grace and elegance. Super delicious — a year ago
