Surprisingly still alive! Smells like it’s a well oaked Chardonnay, with initial ties of cinnamon apple sauce, baked citrus (maybe key lime pie?), and some syrup like preserves. A DEEP surprisingly gold color, light to medium body with hues of green to the edges. Palate definitely reflects the age but doesn’t come off like a Riesling, with hints of tart apple, flat sprite, same baked notes and @Tiva Feltman said even a little cough syrup-y. Very surprising for an old Riesling, one not meant for age. — 4 months ago
Quintessential gewurtz from Alsace. An excellent value. Works terrific with a seared foie gras — 3 years ago
A strawberry and light cherry nose. On the palate, that strawberry flavor intensifies for me into those huge, red-throughout strawberries you find at the peak of season... The wine has bright acidity, but seems to have a savory earthiness that makes me think of sausage rolls... The finish is longer than I expected with perhaps some greener notes developing at the end. This wine would go great with a giant charcuterie plate I think, though my wife was significantly less enthused than I was with this bottle as she was a bit offended with the acidity. — 4 years ago

nice, darker straw, mineral saline nose, some orchard fruit but fairly austere, med bodied on palate, fattened up but still firm acidic backbone. Great as aperitif, silky & sexy — 24 days ago
