Validigue not petite. Nice herbal and cranberry juice nose. Flavors are funky and unique. Excellent unique stuff from Contra Costa County. — a month ago

Reserve Selection Sand Rock Hill Zinfandel 2018

Deep red brick color. Smells just a hint like some fruity vinegar. Flavors are complex and zippy. Juicy. A tad more going on than the Viano private stock Zin. Classic Contra Costa County old vine Zin. — 2 years ago

Viano Vineyards

Private Stock Zinfandel 2015

Lovely in the glass. Red with a blush of plum. Nose is very interesting. Hint of funk. Zinjammy, and smoky. Little bit of mineral oil or linseed oil. Flavor is spectacular. Pure fruit. Tastes very true to the varietal. Pretty tart. Plenty of tannin too. For an under $10 Coastal style Zin, this is a steal. — 5 years ago

Reserve Selection Petite Sirah 2017

An aged (sorta) Petite.! Dark like black cherry and plum skins. Smells like barns, garages and sheds mixed with jammed black and red fruits. Maybe just a tiny hint of turpentine or eucalyptus oil. Flavors are big and tannic as one would expect from CA Petite Sirah. Hint of mountain berries. Some ‘mountain misery’ maybe too. Hearty, deep and full. Seems unfazed by the 6 years aging lol. This is a big boy wine for those who like to feel wines on their front teeth and have a coated tongue. But it’s flavorful and complex too. Pretty classic CA P.S. Well done. — 8 months ago

Private Stock Hillside Pink

Yup it is pink. True blush. Smells a bit like candles. Like a a rose and fruit candle. Flavors are great. Crisp, but full feeling and bright. Orange zest meets strawberry lemonade. It’s a really well made Rosé. One to have on the fancy rosé day. — 9 months ago

Private Stock Hillside Red

Basic and simple label. No extras. Rust edged ruby colored in the glass. Aroma is unique. Old books in a wood paneled room meets well made finished compost with a splash of cherry preserves. Flavors are cooked a bit, but not overly oxidized. Plenty of the cherry. Black cherry jam. Savory streak. Complex finish with some minty zip. This is fairly smooth and elegant. Low alcohol of 13%. Very much an Italian style like good chianti or clean Barbera. Great red vino at a very good price. — 3 years ago
