Vega Sicilia’s entry-level red, 100% Tempranillo from 30 years old vineyards in Padilla, Valbuena de Duero y Pesquera de Duero. Modern-style Ribera del Duero. Aged in French oak barrels for 12-14 months. Dark ruby color. Complex nose with aromas of red and dark fruit (dark cherry, ripe blackberries), smoke, mint, sweet spices and a whiff of vanilla. Pure, fresh and juicy. Medium to full bodied, silky, very elegant, balanced. Good acidity — 8 days ago
Fruity aroma with density. Robust structure with enough tanning, not just fruity. Also with Spiciness. This is from the beginning. It can be stored for more years. But now is ok. It has depth. That should become silky later. At least one hour. Tempranillo with Cabernet Sauvignon? No just Tempranillo. Still changing in 1.5 hours. A bit dry? Not makes me just feel dry but enjoy showing up various fruits in turn. With herb. Cheese matched with this wine.

I actually really liked this with Thai food — 18 days ago
Black fruit aromas and some spice notes, round body with definite vanilla and oak notes, but lingering black pepper tannins. Unexpectedly and wonderfully paired with BBQ chicken pizza! — 4 days ago

Needed lots of glass time. Got better as night went on. — 16 days ago
Nice color. Reddish. Smells good. Cherries and apples. Flavors are pretty normal for good high elevations Spanish reds. Flavors are excellent. Full and fulfilling. Hint of cali though. It’s a nice easy Spaniard — a month ago
