The Spee'wah Of The Murray Darling

Rooks Lane

Shiraz 2002

9.0

Medium garnet red. Medium intensity nose with raspberries, cherry liquor, and dried spices. Slight minerality on the plate with moderate tannins (5.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Lots of raspberries and a little woody. Not as complex as we would have liked but nice aged Aussie Shiraz. Very rounded, balanced acidity and long finish. Drink till 2018. — 8 years ago

Save Our Souls

Murray Darling Sagrantino

Definitely some extra points here for enjoyment. Initially there was a slight spritz which thankfully blew off after about two hours but boy did this come back from the dead. Pinot-like sour cherry juice character with intent and density. Wholebunch feels, forest fruits and spiced blood plum. Cloudy and really, really juicy. It's not the type of wine I could see getting better with age but I don't think that's it's purpose. Get at it with an extra large glass — 8 years ago
