The Delegate

Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

Grapes and olives, on the sweeter side — 2 years ago

Château Le Boscq

Cru Bourgeois Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

Had in Paris at rustic steakhouse. Delegate and elegant. Lighter in body with acidity, tannins and fruit at med/light levels. Pleasant drinking wine of red fruit. Liked and easy drinking - balance is highlight but muted. — 5 years ago

Trivium

"Les Ivrettes Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

Better than some of the more expensive Cabs I've had. This paired beautifully with braised short rib, pasta and was even balanced enough for a delegate cheesecake desert. — 9 years ago

Freemark Abbey

Napa Valley Merlot 2016

I don’t really have any relationship to Merlot, so I thought it was time to spend some time with a bottle. Though not necessarily known for this grape, Freemark Abbey is a name to remember - the first winery in CA founded by a woman and an American delegate at the 1976 Judgement of Paris tasting. I figured an Oakville right bank blend was as close as I’m going to come soon to a young Pomerol. The wine was a deep garnet purple, almost opaque, and after an hour in decanter I got wild blackberry and rhubarb, dark chocolate and tobacco chilling with some decreasingly opinionated tannins. We’ll see how it compares to the next, but I’m happy. $32, 2016 — 4 years ago

Domaine Jean Chartron

Caillerets Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2015

Had the 2015. The somme at our club recommended it as we were eating lobsterfest entrees. We enjoyed it very much. Delegate not overwhelming just enough flavor. — 6 years ago

Lee Family Farm (Morgan Winery)

Monterey Albarino 2013

Crisp with delegate flavors. We've never had an Albariño (that we can remember) and this is a good start. A good aperitif. — 9 years ago
