Deep ruby.
Nose is initially a bit shy. With air, in tulip glass and paired with homemade shepherd's pie; this shows juniper berry, bitter cherry pit/bark, bracing digestif herbs. In a big Burgundy stem, shows some rose hip, acerola, crushed creosote leaf, damp pine forest. This is one heck of a complex nose.
Palate is medium bodied, tannins are fine, long and surprisingly dry, not on the mid palate but one the finish with a black tea/amaro like bitterness that lingers.
I really wish I had more as this is my last bottle. — 19 days ago

2002; Father's Day 2022
👃 Dried blackberries, dried blueberries, over-ripe black cherry, crushed dark chocolate | 👅 Black cherry & strawberry syrup reduction, over-ripe nectarine skin, dark chocolate sauce, light tar notes, acidity/tannins persists with a long, round finish. Satisfying.
Cork pulled for slow oxidation, 11H rest at time of notes.
The end of the line for our Annette's stock, starting life in our cellar as a 4-pack back in Nov. 2005 ($22.50), this has been an enjoyable run.

2022/6/8-10 with scallop crudo, homemade fresh tagliolini al Portonat, frico, etc. A nice mix of more “typical”, bright Sauvignon Blanc citrus and herbs with richer, stone fruit notes. Strong minerality, sneaky richness and plenty of acidity ensure a strong structure, and subtle depth keeps one coming back. — 16 days ago
22/6/8-10 with scallop crudo, fresh homemade tagliolini al Portonat, frico, etc. side by side with the Gnemiz Sol, this was deeper, more spherical, and more complex. A pretty remarkable range of aromas - from classic Sauvignon scents to richer peach and nectarine, honey, mint, vanilla, cool stone, etc. The palate was very deep and richly satisfying while still being sprightly and drinkable, with tons of minerality that was somehow round rather than salty. This was one of the best young Sauvignon Blancs I’ve had, and I’d love to see it with some age. — 16 days ago

Actually the 13 year bottled in bond. Outstanding value and flavor. So smooth, charcoal, molasses, cherries, tea, maple syrup/wood, just an all around great pour. — a month ago
