$7 wine for happy hour at Bar Veloce, super good! Served chilled. I can taste some berries. Little smoky. No funky aftertaste. The name means “winds from Africa”. — 5 years ago
Syrah from Ensenada. 15 months barrel aged red — 8 years ago
For a twist top bottle gotta say this wine was very decent and a great travel wine! More nero than cab it was nicely balanced smooth with a bit of acidity and a nice dryness. ~16$ SAQ — 7 years ago
100% Sagrantino. Silky front, tobacco, blackberry, copper penny then moves to a very softly puckering, tannic finish that builds to a dry, sirocco gust finish. If you aren't a fan of big tannins just back away out the door from this one. A beautiful, wine that reminds you of the huge number unique, fantastic varietals in Italy. — 8 years ago
2011 is full, round, red fruity and so very Sicilian, plus that Saharan sirocco touch. — 10 years ago

1st Jan 2023. Very unusual wine. 15% abv, but quite light. Complex. Energetic.
Domaine de Vaccelli is located in Cognocoli-Monticchi , Corsica . The family estate was purchased in the 1960s by the Courrèges family, after Algeria's independence. Its owner, Gérard Courrèges (son of Alain Courrèges) has been producing wines under the AOC Ajaccio, Vin de Pays de l'Île de Beauté but also Vin de France wines since the 1970s. Today, the vineyard covers 27 hectares planted with many varieties including many of the indigenous varieties of Corsica. The vineyard is run in certified organic farming .
The cuvée Sirocco Rouge is a blend of two indigenous varieties: Sciaccarellu and Elegànte . The wine is aged for 12 months in concrete eggs for 1/3, and the rest in demi-muids , partly new. Sirocco has a cellar potential of 8 to 10 years.
In mouth, it is a silky wine, with finesse and a nice length. There are also floral notes, black fruits and sweet spices aromas.
