Really nice bottle that I find to be a bit more tame and integrated when compared to The Dalmore 12, which is also aged in Oloroso casks (both American and European oak). This selection has sweet caramel & fig, winter spices, toffee, and some nuanced citrus and fresh wood. — 4 years ago
Beautiful bourbon, nice amount of oak, brown sugar, vanilla and easy to drink. — 5 years ago

See previous notes. Put simply this is a stunning Chardonnay as its Show Record will attest, with at least 5 Trophies including Best Wine in Show at the Royal Hobart International Wine Show. A good combination of citrus and stone fruit with leesy complexity and incredible length of flavour. Demonstrates once again how great Margaret River is for Chardonnay. I’m glad I have 3 bottles left. A huge bargain at $30 per bottle. Tasted again on 6th November 2021, 28 weeks later. Nothing to add. Just a killer Chardonnay which has won 5 Trophies and cost $30. QPR does not get much better than this. 96 points. Tasted final bottle on 16th June 2022 with consistent notes. Oak has fully integrated into the fruit. Should seek out more at this price. Hopefully they have kept up the standard with later vintages. — 4 years ago

Haven’t had Pappy but this is hands down the best 4 year Rye I’ve ever tasted! — 3 years ago
Holy sweet mother of Moses. The 2016 Royal City is a truly spectacular wine. Full speed on all cylinders with a broad and evolving complexity with new features found in every crook and corner.
Dark concentrated, ripe but fresh fruit profile, cassis, blackberries, blueberries, plenty of lavender followed by meat, iron and a very integrated oak spice and a pronounced crushed stone minerility that gives further dimension to the nose. There is of course a bit of resistance on the palate with its pronounced tannins, but it manage to shake it with its intense concentration on the palate with an expansive mid palate and bottomless finish. Outstanding.
Please give me a napkin and a bloody steak, sorry vegetarians but you could always pair it with a bearnaise only, accompanied by a large spoon.

“Northwest style sour ale, ale aged in wine and port barrels in grapes”. 20 month aging on Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Brownish red in color, muddy looking. Funky red wine notes in nose, slight foam ring on fringe. Citric and tartaric sourness, cherry skin flavors, Malt like body, mouthfeel. Not for everyone but well made, really nice for a sour ale. Should cross over well to red wine drinkers. Oak and tobacco are apt descriptors that others used here, but there’s so much going on here. — 5 years ago
