attractive, unusual gold color, supposed to be beet dry, and it is , without sourness. a tiny bit of mineral, like a grigio, but smoother. I liked it very much — 6 hours ago
Noh! Muito equilibrado. Cor linda. Pouco álcool, tanto no cheiro quanto no gosto.
Precisa respirar antes. — 2 months ago
At first this wine had a mushroom and wet cardboard note. Uh oh. Since it had been slumbering for 40 years, I put it in timeout and let it figure itself out. Fruit was a bit flat right out of the gate but the cork was intact and not soaked through. 30 minutes later, much better. Aged red cherry and rhubarb. Little bit of iodine. Little bit of black olive. Little bit of grilled meat. Mushroom risotto with tomato and chicken would have gone perfectly with this wine. I am amazed at the structure of this wine. I think it could have slumbered for another 10 years and still been just fine. I give picture cred to @Shay A as I was checking this one constantly to make sure it wasn't in the can before ordering it up!! — 21 days ago
A light Chardonnay, but still has a good full mouth feel. — 11 days ago
Wow! This comes right out of the gate fantastically. This is magical this early for 2010. 2010 is a great vintage but, built for elder years and children.
The nose reveals, slightly steeped, ripe & ruby fruits of; blackberries, dark cherries, strawberries, blueberries, cooked pomegranates and cherries. Slight liqueur notes, toffee, caramel, mocha, melted chocolate, steeped fruit tea, vanilla, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, dry, crushed rocks, limestone, dark spices, soft leather, light fresh tobacco, dry stones, graphite, expresso roast, dark, rich soils, with candied, fragrant, bright, dark, red, blue florals set in violets.
The body is round, elegant and ruby beautiful. The tannins are; dark, tarry, spicy, rounded and chewy. The structure, tension, length and balance live up to every bit of hype the 2010 was given. Slightly steeped, ripe & ruby fruits of; blackberries, dark cherries, strawberries, blueberries, cooked pomegranates and cherries. Slight liqueur notes, toffee, caramel, mocha, melted chocolate, steeped fruit tea, vanilla, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, dry, crushed rocks, limestone, deep dark spices with incredible palate heat, soft leather, light fresh tobacco, dry stones, graphite, expresso roast, dark, rich soils, with candied, fragrant, bright, dark, red, blue florals set in violets. The acidity is perfect. The seriously elegant finish is; ripe, slightly candied, brightly floral, polished and persists endlessly. Beautiful wine now and for the next 35 years.
Photos of; arial view of Chateau Haut-Bailly-fortunate to have spent two nights there, dinning room that I was fortunate to have dinner in, artful perspective of the Chateau and their brand glass doors that lead into their barrel room. — 14 days ago
Co Dinn has been crafting some classy Washington Chardonnay since his time many years back at Hogue Cellars. The new 2016 ‘Roskamp Vineyard’ Chardonnay is a delightful effort that was aged on the lees for seventeen months prior to bottling. Right out of the gate this shows off a downright sexy mouthfeel, with gobs of tension and bright orchard fruits. The exceedingly long finish lingers. This is up there with the best in the state. Enjoy this fantastic effort over the next seven to ten years, as this will pick up lovely tertiary tones as it ages. Drink 2019-2026- 93 — 8 hours ago
You can drink this as is. Not clear to me why I would age a wine which is awesome out of the gate. Stunning but 192$. Violets yes. Super elegant. Very well managed oak. Just a touch chalky. Pomegranate mostly. Hint of cherry. Tiny touch of blueberry really just a touch! And sandalwood. Yes this has all the hallmarks of a Grand Cru. Obviously for the wealthy or folks who forgo clothes and buy this instead. — 21 days ago
