Vipavska Dolina Pinela 2017

Jammy on the front but then funky. Hannah says like eating cherries on the beach - a salient quality - maybe one of them fell on the beach 😂 love it! Worth the splurge — 6 years ago

Vino Bianco Frizzante Unfiltered Glera Blend

The only time I have ever had an unfiltered wine was in Rudesheim, Germany with a Red that I enjoyed. Not too sure about this one but I’m usually willing to try anything at least once. It’s refreshing on this hot day but has a very unique taste — 8 months ago

Vipava Selekcija Pinela 2016

Ancient Pinella varietal-Veneto origin but now 97% is grown in Slovenia. Floral notes, crisp acidity. Label says 14% abv but seemed much lower than that. Nice find at a local wine shop in Pacifica. — 5 years ago

Overview:
A dry white blend centered on Pinela, another indigenous Vipava Valley grape known for its lively acidity and citrus-driven profile. The wine reflects the region’s breezy valley climate and limestone-influenced soils.

Aromas & Flavors:
Quince, kumquat, citrus zest, white stone fruit, and subtle herbal freshness.

Mouthfeel:
Crisp, energetic, and refreshing with vibrant acidity and a clean, linear structure. The finish is bright and mineral-driven.

Food Pairings:
Mediterranean seafood platters, oysters, grilled shrimp, lemony pasta dishes.

Personal Pick:
One of those wines that instantly feels coastal and refreshing. Perfect for seafood and warm weather sipping.

Verdict:
Bright, citrusy, and vibrant. A great example of Slovenia’s lesser-known native varieties.
