A portion of all sales of their P.S. Marion Tawny go to support putting the steam back in the P.S. Marion...one of the finest steamer paddle boats every to grace the Murray River in Australia. You see their owner has a thing for history. You see it all around his Cellar Door and Cellars. This has nice brown sugar, molasses, golden & regular raisins, prunes, tea, light brewed coffee, nuts with skin, toffee, dry pineapple, orange peel, marmalade, fruit blossoms, apricot & peach. A ton of oak as expected! Very young! Vanilla liqueur soaked plums, cedar, nutmeg. Med-heavy mouthfeel with a grill full of fruit tannins. Spain makes you cry uncle, and then breaks out the wooden paddle to whip your ass! How much wood can this Mofo chuck?!! Bring your best Paul Bunyan, and his big blue ox! Two paths converged in a wood...really puts a bit of stick about!! The wood references should go on ad infinitum here. Needs time, and a further update! She’s a country sort casual, cool, in a simplistic seductive red dress showing voluptuous skin draped and contrasted in a purple sarong-like shawl clinging to her shoulders and rim, earthen, perhaps a tinge of wood maybe leather surely more than lace, somewhat feral playing around swirling, twirling ”dazzling dancing half enchanted,” I pull her close, breathing in her deep essence, I spin her left then right taking her close to the edge as she spills over wetting my lips into my mouth drifting slowly clinging unctuous and warm, she takes her time, deeper, as an errant drop drips from the corner of my mouth her ruby round essence slides down my pectoral finding linen, landing marking the moment - the music changes and I am reminded to take another hit, blue and red berries - musky blueberry and cherry. We dance all night. Small batch 100 proof. Saved a sip to review. Evergreen (blue spruce) dough, caramel covered almonds, nutty as hell, baklava thing going with the pistachio and honey, maple and walnut coming in a close second. Banana bread, acorn squash, cinnamon and baked sugar, vanilla icing and a return to pine, in a crystalline sap way. Life is a box of bourbon candies. The palate starts hot, with a wooden paddle waiting for gluttonous candy fiends. Krampus whips your tongue with cinnamon oils and a cedar rush. Vanilla-oak spikes pierce your palate from all angles. Visited this winery 2 weeks ago which stores it's barrels under the center of town in a cellar hundreds of years old in Estrucian cave. Brought this back after a tasting and it is still wonderful and deserving of its 94 WS rating. A bold punch yet smooth delivery packing dark fruits and tobacco.
