Olallieberry

Reserve Unbound Paso Robles Petite Sirah Blend 2022

9.1

Inky dark purple, with fragrant, heady aromatics of warm blueberry cobbler, elderberry and black currants. Ripe plum and black raspberry notes are accented with cigar box, crushed herbs and fennel. Power with grace, this wine unfurls like a cherry blossom, revealing layers of blue and black fruit flavors. Cherry, olallieberry, and Zante currant, with truffle, lilac and sandalwood notes are integrated and well structured. Silky, fine grained tannins provide ample support for the voluptuous fruit. Positively sumptuous on the long, generous finish. Lingering cherry, red delicious apple and just a hint of mint display tenacious longevity. — 7 months ago

Juicy. There's a sense of blackberry/black cherry gum. Black cherry cola, black licorice anise, olallieberry pie, dark moist earth, chocolate cake with fruit & fudge frosting, dark fine minerality, shades of a port like character, liquid violets, crushed rocks, dry pebbles and very large round juicy to dry dark fruit finish. Reminds me of a very dark berry Gamay. — 8 years ago

The aromas are an explosion of hand-picked olallieberry, anise, and black cherry. Vibrant red fruit stacked on top of blueberry paste and ripe plum to create a palate that is multi-dimensional and luscious. Juicy and soft, the 2013 Barbera is plush and made for every day drinking, but will make any occasion seem special.

Drink now-2020.

Olallieberry, blueberry, blackberry, black plum, cinnamon, sage, bay leaf, leather, tobacco leaf and a smokey finish. Still needs a 3-5 years to hit it's stride. — 10 years ago
