Viñedos de Montaña Cabernet Franc 2020

Delectable Wine
9.3

The 2020 Cabernet Franc Matías Riccitelli Viñedos de Montaña hails from the lower eastern border of Los Chacayes (3,500 fasl) in the Uco Valley and was fermented in concrete vats before aging for 16 months in French foudres. In the glass, it's garnet-red with a purple sheen. The nose presents notes of ash, green bell pepper, blackcurrant and blackberry over a layer of oak. Dry and broad, the warm year has brought a velvety texture that contrasts with a chalky mouthfeel and rich palate. The 2020 ends with a long finish of dark fruit. — 6 years ago

Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay 2015

9.0

Good for $14.99. Not as good as their Sierra Mar but, still nice. The Sierra Mar is worth $10 more a bottle.

Not as rich, thick, creamy or buttery and less minerality, lacks some of the white spice and chalkiness the Sierra Mar shows.

Works well with our cheeses and the Giants who are on a roll tonight. My sister is at the game and lovin’ it. Grand slam always helps.

Good night in the D&S Lounge.

Wairarapa Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Trying out all the highly rated $10.00-$20.00 whites to guzzle during the summer heat & Beach bike rides. This is a wine advocate 91 for $15.00
1. Novellum,ridiculous for $10.00
2. Substance
3. This one
4. Matias Santa Lucia Highlands
But basically splitting hairs on all of them,
Matias is the most complex.
