Ripe red fruit, earthy with light smoke. An impressive wine for the price. — 4 months ago
Oh so nice with a perfectly made Bolognese. Not at all too early. — 2 months ago
March 2024. Solid, classic, very enjoyable Brunello. Have had 2 vintages if this wine now. 2014 here and the 2016 in a restaurant. This 2014 (not a great vintage year) was surprisingly very good. The 2016 was young,so we decanted. It was much better, as expected given the great vintage year ‘16 was. Look forward to having more of this! — 3 months ago

Black currant and cherry. Concentrated. Chocolate nuance. Abit acidic. 2021 @1200, TPAP, 240425-240502 — 2 months ago
This wine has a nice yellow tint and a nose that shows the restrained use of oak. The aromas also have an earthy salinity about them, with a fruity undercurrent draped in apple, almond and dried apricot notes. On the palate, there is a more noticeable oak effect, but still within reason. The mouthfeel is full, while the acidity is bracing. It is a savory wine which brings the fruit almost apologetically. Delicious, and a great match for dishes from seafood to chicken to pork. Anything with a creamy sauce will pair beautifully with the Benefizio Riserva. — 4 months ago

Bright and deep yellow gold. Inviting nose of tangelo and cedar. Medium palate confirms the nose adding a mentholesque note and yellow fruit. Low acidity (that brightens up mid palate) leads to a smooth mouthfeel that almost drinks like a red. Lingering orangey finish. Gorgona is a prison island where the inmates -- in the last year of their sentence -- work in the vineyards and winery to develop skills that will help them reintegrate into society. The wine is a direct result of that program, and if it's any indication those inmates are on the right track. Drink now through 2028. — 13 days ago
