Bruderbach Clos des Frères Riesling 2012

Brilliant wine. Traditional petrol notes of Alsatian Riesling, great fruit (apricot and peach) body and acid round out an excellent example that punches well above its price point. — 8 years ago

Ostenberg Gewürztraminer 2013

Young, talented winemaker building a reputation for his Rieslings, but this Gewürztraminer is very nice, too.
Bouquet is leaning to floral nuances, not so much to the usual tropical fruit/lychee kind of thing. There's apricotjam, sweaty minerality, lavender soap and a whiff of kirsch as well. I notice some sweetness in the entree, but it's not cloying, tiring or plump. Well balanced, a very fine maybe even elegant Gewürz!

Muschelkalk Riesling 2012

The ridge of 450 million year old mussel shells (kalck) hums through the searing cayenne in my Kung Pao Chicken, with a helping hand from about an ounce of this wine going into the saute, followed by another couple of ounces in each glass — 8 years ago
