The 09’ Grivot Nuits-St-Georges Roncière was my red of the night - a wine of elegance and earthy allure. This was another stellar showing in what has been an exceptional run for Grivot in my wine adventures last year.
The wine opened with aromas of pure red fruits backlit by savoury earthy spice and mocha warmth, followed by whispers of dried florals and an animalistic edge. The palate was a finely honed interplay of minerality and time-honed sweetness. It had beautiful soft textures, guided by refined tannins that felt polished yet somewhat firm. The finish lingered with salty cherry energy, a delicate salinity that elevated the fruit into something quite ethereal. I just loved how the wine effortlessly balanced finesse and rusticity, leaving an indelible impression of place and personality. — 14 days ago
Starting to show yummy savory secondaries, really in a nice, expressive place and a real deal for under $150 on a restaurant list. Some will find it a little thin, but I'm okay with that because it smells amazing. — 10 years ago
