Le Pech d'André

Caracole Clairet d'Aramon Nature 2022

Le Pech d’André, Caracole, Clairet d’Aramon Nature. Pays d’Hérault, Languedoc. Stumped the experts with this one. It’s like a light red-colored rosé, 95% Aramon noir, 5% Grenache noir, a bit cloudy, freshly grapey aroma and flavor. Fairly intrusive skin astringency initially, so decant at last a couple of hours. Drank great 24 hours later. First time drinking this variety. Not as impressive as some Sandlands heirloom varietals like Cinsault, but I’d like to try some more Aramon. — 25 days ago

Caracole d'Aramon Red Blend 2016

Aramon?! I had never heard of this grape. Not to mention this region... Sorta floral, light bodied, intensely flavored with red fruit just barely baked, chewy tannins, long finish. Anyway, fun new stuff for me. Holler if you know it.

Outstanding amber here. Flavorful and pleasantly malty with a long lasting finish. Hard to believe this one is 9%.......until you have a few. 4 packs are on deep discount at the shop right now. Only $5.99. Super deal. — 10 years ago
