When first opened, the flavors were kind of confused. But after breathing for about 45 minutes it was outstanding. Flavors of figs, dates, dried cranberries and earth. The wine is dry with a good long finish. It went well with the pork chop I paired it with. It was even better with my kids’ red Italian pasta dishes. I’m not sure if Barbera d’Asti is usually aged this long, but it worked. Many thanks to my brother Mike for providing this unique wine. It made celebrating my daughter’s birthday extra nice. — 4 years ago

Best Oregon Pinot bang for the buck from #firesteed. Husband is hunting and wife has turned into an #overposter — 10 years ago
The Oregon Pinot Noir I’ve been looking for…mostly. Label claims cherry, black currant, and forest floor. I’m happy to say it’s well-balanced in those areas. It has the earthiness that Firesteed was missing, yet I could use a little more and it still has a lighter body that keeps it from perfection. Not sure one can expect more body from Pinot Noir these days, at least coming from certain regions. Great balance and fruit aroma to the nose as well, no harsh acidity or spice. — 2 years ago
