Wednesday Wine Committee. As always, wines are tasted blind. 1 sparkler, 2 whites, 4 reds, 1 dessert.
@Delectable Wine : This is the Strangenberg Pinot. The best Alsatian Pinot I’ve had to date. Greet balance of herbs and fruit. Wanted to go burgundy, but settled on Oregon as a hybrid. Started at with a Beaujolais style, but it evolved. Got the varietal correct at least! — 7 years ago

Unctuous and rich with some RS but not cloying. Has held up extremely well. — 10 years ago
Celebrating Bastille Day with the spring dinner of the Confrerie St Etienne of Alsace association. Wonderful menu and perfectly paired wines.
Lemon and pear. Repeat. Lots of reductive notes on this wine. Not sure I would have called Alsatian Riesling blind. Hardly any petrol. Viscous. Definitely best served chilled. Once it warmed, the flavors became too melded (lots of pear, lemon tart, and stone fruit). Needs time. — 6 years ago
