Domaine Gris Des Bauries

Bestheim

Exception Pinot Gris 2014

Deep gold. Inviting nose of lemon curd and honey. Full-bodied dry palate echoes the nose adding quince, white pepper notes, and white flowers. Medium plus acidity. This is not your father’s Pinot Gris. Barrel fermented and complex, this PG will support a wide range of fall and winter fare from pasta carbonara and casseroles to roasted poultry and roots. Drink now through 2029. Maybe longer. — 3 days ago

Oregon Pinot Gris 2016

Very nice Pinot Gris! Showing pear, baked apples, lemon, honey and slight grapefruit characteristics. Reminds me of an Alsace Pinot Gris! — 7 days ago

Joseph Swan Vineyards

Saralee's Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Gris Rosé 2012

2012. Pale garnet, rust colored wine. Opened up for 30 minutes and aeration recommended. Dried strawberry, cloves, medium tannins, high acidity. Earthiness and dirt (not in a bad way!) — 5 days ago

I’ve had this off & on for probably 20 yrs or so and it is so consistent & great value. Voluptuous & Alsatian in style, this vintage is silky & sexy w/generous sweet ripe citrus aromas - ft. lemon chiffon, Bosc pear, jasmine & honeysuckle, apple and a slender slice of stone. Integrated acidity and seamless this was fun w/Vietnamese vermicelli. — 2 days ago

Moltès

Alsace Tradition Pinot Noir 2018

Fresh and straight expression of « bio » Pinot Noir. Terroir and small red fruits well ahead (cranberry, redcurrant), relatively round and homogeneous for an Alsatian wine, with a slight specific mineral tension. serve at 10-12 degrees. Very gourmet, as an aperitif, a meal combining charcuterie and / or cheese. — 18 days ago

First encounter with this unusual grape from Muscadet region. Kermit Lynch import. Thought Alsatian due to bottle shape. Nice medium yellow color and floral stone fruits and chalky nose fading to asparagus (according to Leila). Lucious profile carrying through to palate with firm texture to long acidic finish. Great with the salmon and leeks. Too bad only bottle AA 13. — 12 days ago

Cristom

Estate Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Gris 2018

Produced since 1994 and named for Mt. Jefferson in the Cascade Range that is east of Cristom Vineyards and visible from their tasting room. From a blend of estate vineyard grapes, the wine is Ruby with aromas of red berries, floral and spice. On the palate flavors of fresh strawberry with tea leaves and cola notes, clean and vibrant. Fine soft tannins, long finish, carrying fruit and ending with a soft spice character. Very nice, great value!! — 11 days ago

Sangiacomo Vineyard Pinot Gris 2017

Beautiful. Nose is supple, creamy/butter/wood, earth with a bit of sea spray under some brightness: melon. Delicious palate for me. As you can see, I am not the best with descriptors yet, but this is a lovely white with some depth and complexity, smooth and creamy with lovely silhouetted brightness. Silk and honeydew and nom. — 7 days ago

Rat Kamm Le Gris Maceration Nature Pinot Gris 2019

Exciting and unexpected color! Like drinking a great sour beer, minus a bit of the effervescence, plus some of that nuanced natty wine palate I love so much. Leather and parm balanced out with lots of red fruit 🍓🍒🧀 — 10 days ago

Domaine de Fontsainte

Gris de Gris Corbières Grenache Gris Rosé 2019

Begins with an inviting nose of pear & a toasty creaminess. The pallate is crisp, refreshing and has backbone of minerality. Intial flavors of lemon zest & curb move into creme fraiche, and flint on a surprisingly long finish for a rosé. Paired quite well with dry rub chicken wings! [11/10/20] — 16 days ago
