This 100% Vidal Blanc dessert wine has a delightful honeyed crème brûlée nose that is crossed with dried peaches. On the pallet it is thick and honeyed and screaming with laserlike acid. There are layers of peaches apricots and honeysuckle. Delicious. — 12 years ago

Cab Sauv, but whatevs. Delicious, delicious wine. — 7 years ago
This Virginia gold-medal winner threw me a curveball. Not a traditional build, this had a particularly heavy mid-palate mouth feel coupled with interesting herbal characteristics. The spice note was present but interwoven with unique fruit notes that became an acquired taste after the second glass and a little bit of air. I might give this one another try ;) however, I struggle to find the answer for the answer for its high accolade. — 9 years ago

Nfn: this is a Bordeaux-caliber Claret from a vineyard and winery tucked within the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Clearly there’s Merlot as a prominent voice in the blend- but there’s no doubt that Cab Franc, Petit Verdot, and maybe some Cabernet Sauvignon play their own parts.
