Cold Shower Wines

Chateau Ste. Michelle

Cold Creek Vineyard Merlot 2015

Ming L
9.2

Let’s see:
Single vineyard
45-year old vines
A fantastic vintage
A reputable producer
Aged in American and French oak barrels for 22 months, 25% new
Additional 6 years in bottle age (at time of purchase)
How is $15 per bottle possible?!
The wine itself is fantastic as well. Ripe black plum, blueberry, licorice, cinnamon, black tea leaf, and hint of dried mushroom on the nose. Supple and balanced. No rush but very delicious now.

Cold Springs Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Beautiful California-style Cabernet Sauvignon. Slightly sweet and intense flavors. No flaws in this Cabernet Sauvignon. A paradigm of this style. — a year ago

Sabine Aix en Provence Rosé Blend 2020

Way to easy to drink. Picture yourself on a picnic table south of France in June. That’s this wine. Serve cold! — 3 years ago

Cold Creek Ranch Pinot Grigio 2023

No bitterness or any minerality. Just crisp, clean, and flavors of white grape, lemon and lychee hint. Long lasting finish. Longer than I’d expect. — 2 months ago

Chateau Ste. Michelle

Cold Creek Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Bought at Pine Orchard 9/23 $24. Rich berry flavors. Tannins have probably mellowed too much. Would like to try again with a younger Vintage. — a year ago

The Marigny Carbonic Maceration Yamhill-Carlton Pinot Noir

Served cold on Labor Day. Fruit forward with some earthy tones too, especially when first coming from the bottle. Very drinkable. Fun flavors. — a year ago

Chappellet

Grower Collection One Block Cold Creek Vineyard Viognier 2021

Chappellet may be known for their cabs but their viognier really does it for me. Incredible perfumed nose, and bursts with delicious stone fruit. — 2 years ago
