The 2018 Pinot Noir (Santa Lucia Highlands) is fresh as a daisy, demonstrating how seamlessly the stems (78% in this case) and tannins integrate into Adam Lee’s wines over time. Lifted and expressive, this is such a polished package. It's a bit quiet on the nose, but there’s finesse and complexity to burn. Spiced macerated cherry, potpourri, incense and crushed rocks lead to a resolved, rounded finish. This is well executed and nowhere near peak. (Billy Norris, Vinous, August 2024)

Harvested about a week later than the others in the 2018 lineup, the 2018 Pinot Noir Rosella’s Vineyard opens with generous red fruit, grilled herbs, iodine and a hint of iron. Resolved and settled in, the 80% new oak here is perfectly integrated, presenting only a touch of spicy grip on the finish. Very classy. (Billy Norris, Vinous, August 2024)

Adam Lee at his SLH best. Lush and complex. Dark cherry, cranberry, cinnamon, clove, a hint of stem and a solid oak backbone. Medium bodied, high alcohol, medium minus tannins, high acid, and a long finish. This is a big, bold pinot, (Burgundian on steroids?) without feeling forced. — 6 months ago
