Château Simard

Château Simard

Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

2024/2. Still surprisingly dark and tight, mostly primary in the aromas and with plenty of dark tannin and a slightly bitter twist to the finish, but with a few hours, the nose becomes more expressive (if still primary)…it feels like it has a good while yet to go, but is still enjoyable now — 2 months ago

Opaque blood red, slightly burgundy colour, a lot of (American?) Oak on the nose, leather, chewy tannins — 3 years ago

More sharp and compact than the Simard, a more intense tannic grip. Needs time! — 10 years ago
