Clos d’Englora AV14 is Baronia del Montsant’s top wine, a blend of Garnatxa and Cariñena from very old vines as well as some Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from younger vines planted in the 1990s, aged in oak for 14 months (hence the name, AV14, AV for ancient vines). I could not tell if the nose had more plum than blackberry or vice versa. But I can say blueberries won out on the palate. There was some dirty rock as well and a touch of spice that lingered for a while. Overall average to me. It did have some nice touches, may have better with food. — 4 years ago
