A new wine at Pickle and a good one. Medium to dark garnet, nose of black plum & berries with some earth & a touch of leather or tabacco. In the mouth very dry and tasting just like it’s nose- even tannins and low acidity considering the 15% alcohol. Great with any spiced food & most meats if you like dry medium bodied reds- had with omelets and balanced well. — 6 years ago

Bell pepper, black pepper, explosive black currant on the nose. Jolly tartness with iron and berries and some foxiness on the nose, also some minerals. Beautiful delightful wine. Lingering, magical spicy, savory, fruity finish. Reminded me of a berry sauce made with sherry for a roast duck dish. — 7 years ago

While Ignasi Domènech is mostly known for his superb Grenache (Garnatxa), this 100% Carignan (Carinyena/Samsó) from very old vines does not lag behind. Sourced from a single 0.74 ha. vineyard in Masroig with extremely low-yields (1700 bottles were filled in 2016), this is one of Montsant’s best examples of Carignan, a very hard, rustic variety traditionally used in bulk wines and blending. Warm, full-bodied, round and polished, lots of red fruit, balsamic notes, long finish.
