Intriguing #shiraz coming in at 22 years of bottle age. Cork was crumbly but intact, minimal soak. Definite bricking on edges, dark burgundy in the glass. Day after uncorking it’s really awakened; prominent briny green olive aromas overlain with black olive, charcuterie notes, pruny fruit aromas in the background. Still some lively acidity on palate, prune raisin notes without a sense of the wine being tired, salted caramel, toffee towards the end and tannins vanishingly faint on finish. #fleurieu — 8 months ago
