Gaso is the family vineyard high on the hills of Marano di Valpolicella. Very attractive nose of resin, butterscotch, prune, ripe plum, and cherry. Unusually bright and vibrant palate. Authoritative yet silky tannins. I think I paid $35 for this small production Amarone. A steal. — 7 years ago

2010 - Organic grapes from 30 yrs. old vines. Nice red color, forget darkness here. Great fruitiness at this very young stage and complex body, long finish. Particularly elegant and drinkable, it comes from Marano valley! Excellent. And the price is... €13 at the winery! — 10 years ago

High in the hills over Marano di Valpolicella, these grapes come from the Corbelar cru in Purano area. It's essentially a Ripasso della #Valpolicella "scaled down" to a Superiore. Or, best to say, "scaled up"... Elegant, fresh, an awesome wine indeed. — 10 years ago

2009 - A Valpolicella Ripasso from grapes coming from high hills over Marano, in Purano. This Ripasso is made with Superiore wine re-fermented on Recioto marc, the traditional way. Well balanced, good structure, an easy drink thanks to a very good acidity. Very good. — 10 years ago

Still gorgeous 28 years after harvest. Color: deep garnet. Nose: raisin. The taste evolved beautifully, too. It started off surprisingly light in body and reminiscent of plum tart. After some 40 minutes in the glass it grew deeper and richer, with notes of stewed fruit. — 5 years ago

2010 - Organic grapes from 30 yrs. old vines. It's a traditional Ripasso, the second passage is partially on Recioto skins, very rare attitude. Nice red color and transparency for this Ripasso. Very young and still impacted by woods. Wide fruitiness and nice body, "looong" finish. Particularly elegant, it comes from Marano valley! And a real bargain: €6 at the winery.
