Arione Barolo Nebbiolo 2015

Slowly reentering the world of humans after that little COVID thing. First time out in a real restaurant since March 2020. The wine is still a pup but was delicious. Fingers crossed. Hello world. — 4 months ago

Casa Vinicola Arione

Barolo Nebbiolo 2010

Started out more herbal. Opens up with air to old school, barnyard funk, tobacco, and dried cherry. Juicy, fresh, straight forward. Tannins are firm. Good QPR on a solid vintage. Decant or hold for a few more years. — 5 years ago

Bruno Giacosa

Arione Di Serralunga Barolo Nebbiolo 1988

From mag. Sadly this is a little past prime drinking. Slightly oranged around the edges and with some sherried notes and a slight dry tartness to the finish. There’s still fruit here- dried roses, tar and a bit of molasses. Good balance too, though drying where you’d hope the midpalate offered more charm. It’s Certainly drinkable but compared to the mag of 88 Dom, this bottle Is firmly on the downslope. I’ve had older giacosa in much better shape. A shame- it’s bottle by bottle when they get to this age. A real treat to try it though. — a year ago

2002 was a very difficult vintage, but the Buio (coming partially from Arione vineyard) is showing perfectly right now. — a year ago
