OMG!!! I have never been a fan of the Blackboard which I bought at Costco. But I was at Matthews last month and tried it and I WAS TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY!!! They call it a Washington Heritage Blend because it contains Cab, Merlot, Malbec and Syrah! For that price point, it is a unique and one of a kind quality wine!! I ended up buying a case! Wonderful summer wine that made my big toe shoot right outta my boot! — 5 days ago
Dark fruit flavors. Full bodied with smooth finish. Just perfect with steak. — a month ago
A ripe example which may actually be to its detriment for those who enjoy a little more cray cray in their Cabernet Franc. That said, with its balanced red and black fruit and cocoa-y character, this wine could easily be described as elegant. It actually reminded me of the fad a few years back around "chocolate ports". Anyway, there is certainly quality here and much like any and all wines that derive from the Sumac Ridge heritage, this would definitely be a crowd pleaser. — 2 years ago

@Delectable Wine : This is the Gemstone Vineyard Heritage Selection Cabernet. I didn’t see it in the database.
Wonderful Gemstone tasting last night, and this was my WOTN. Perfect example of TRB’s style with an absolutely intoxicating nose of sweet red and black fruit. Some sandalwood too. Velvet like texture on the palate showing soft, bruised, ripe blackberry, bing cherry and vanilla tobacco. Fig and nutmeg. Finish goes on and on. Fantastic! — 4 years ago

Raspberry both fresh and jammy, tart red cherry, boysenberry, blueberry, blackberry, rosemary leaves, dusty forest floor, black pepper, asphalt, crushed stones, elevated acidity, med minus integrated tannins, bright ruby in color med minus concentration. Med+ finish. It’s lovely wine. A very fresh 2014 vintage. — 2 days ago
