Aramasa again! This time from their "experimental" range - Private Lab series. V17. Junmai with 60% polishing ratio. Made with both saké and shochu koji. A little bit of funk factor here. Nose was really estery and ricey (if that even makes sense). Consistent with other tasting notes, palate was citrus first, melon second. Juicy sweetness and crunchy acidity makes for a very glou glou saké. Another mind-boggling bottle from possibly my favourite brewery. The usual elegance, with weight aplenty! — 3 years ago

Kanpai Wines Mizu No Oto Pinot Noir 2018 Sonoma Coast, California

Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim and medium intensity.

Fruity nose of cherries, red currants, light oak, tobacco, spices and black pepper.

Medium bodied with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with cherries, strawberries, raspberries, spices, light wood, earth, dark coffee and black pepper.

Tangy finish with fine tannins and raspberries.

This young Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast is already drinking very nicely. Spicy and elegant.

Fruit forward with a nice mouthfeel. Easy drinking and good by itself or with food.

Good right out of the bottle and better after 30 minutes of airtime.
As it opens up, more structure comes in.

A good quality wine that will age nicely in the next few years.

Paired nicely with the Brie cheese.

13% alcohol by volume.
