Recibiendo 2022 con mi mono… conversaciones infinitas y geniales como todo!!! Bebido en sanjose Nochevieja 2021-2022 — 3 years ago
Popped and poured. The 2012 pours a deep ruby, with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of blackberries, desiccated cherries, prune, pipe tobacco, new leather, purple flowers, wet rocks, and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and quite satisfying. The texture is luxurious. This drinking well now and should continue to do so for a least a few more years but why wait? — 5 months ago
Well-made but just too intense. An overpowering Cabernet Sauvignon that will never lose its intensity with aging. Disappointing at its high price. — 6 months ago
We all know Malbec right… however have you ever tried Bonarda (also known as Douce Noir) from Argentina? It’s lesser known than Malbec however it’s Argentina’s 2nd most widely planted red grape.
We picked this one up from Good Pair Days and also made the matching Mustard Stuffed Chicken to go with it 🫶
Ruby red colour in the glass with hints of red liquorice, cherries, plums, raspberries and a sprinkling of spice on the nose. In the mouth it’s juicy, fruity and a whole lot of fun 🥳

Well balanced with red fruit and blackberries. Lovely!! — a year ago
From a Magnum. Some green peppers and some animal scents, but not too disturbing, medium plus bodied and tannins, some freshness despite the varietal, good but not a wine that drinks easily. 89-90
Clairement Cab franc au nez comme en bouche, poivron vert, un peu animal mais à peine, quand même une fraîcheur et des tannins d’intensité moyenne, c’est bon sans être un type de vin qui se boit très facilement. — 3 years ago

Jacky Blot sadly passed away recently, and oversaw in his time two Loire domaines that produce Chenin and Cabernet Franc respectively. I tried last year one of his whites, which blew me away, and enjoyed a similar experience with the 2018 ‘Mi-Pente’, a single vineyard Cab Franc from Bourgueil. This being my first wine from Bourgueil and one of a tiny few Cab Francs that I’ve tried from the Loire as a whole, I would have no idea where to place this in a blind tasting. But my word, what a spectacular wine!
It’s so enticing on the nose - initially quite bretty, but then broadening out to reveal aromas of fresh cherry, cranberry and blackcurrant, along with a savoury edge comprising cedar, tobacco, lavender and tomato leaf. The palate is at once fresh but powerful, structured and elegant; savoury with flecks of sweet cherry chocolate. This is an engrossing wine, utterly drinkable with great ageing potential. I am totally smitten, and look forward to trying more wines from this domaine in the future.
