Great nose, great wine — 5 years ago
Chateau has a long history in the Saint Estephe appellation, dating back the 18th century. Chateau built for Thomas Barton, AKA Chateau Leoville Barton, in 1955 it was purchased by the Dourthe group. Dark crimson with berry, spice and earthy aromas. On the palate rich flavors of layered berry fruits moving towards jammy, complex fine dry soft tannins needing more time, opened up after 45 minutes. Lingering finish, nice acidity and balance, nice, recommend decanting. — 6 years ago
Nice balance and good nose — a year ago
2018 vintage. Dourthe managed this estate for the Japanese owners (Mercian) since 2001 and finally bought it in 2014. The soils are somewhat atypical for the Médoc, with a lot of clay, which explains why Reysson has probably the highest Merlot content (92%) on the left bank. Cru Bourgeois Supérieur. Another great Bordeaux value. Black cherries and very subtle oak. Round and balanced, with the high (abv. 14,5 %) alcohol well-integrated. Soft tannic structure and good length. — 3 years ago
No regret for keeping this wine after 15 years. Still strong and fruity and packed with oak sense. Excellent choice — 5 years ago
