A blend of Montepulciano (85) and aglianico(15). Aroma is a strong spicy and herbal character. Nutmeg and Rosemary. Hint of cocoa, touch of date and a bit of currant. Lots of cocoa and black cherry in the flavor. Fairly full bodied with a bit of sweetness and balanced by tannins from the barrel. Older, so somewhat musty, would love to have a younger vintage. — 4 months ago
