What to say about a champagne like this? Other than overwrought affirmations of love? Medium pale lemon in the glass with nice effervescence and a plethora of tiny, fine bubbles. The nose is pure with notes of green apple and lemon zest initially. Plums, roasted nuts, and wonderful minerality. Airy white flowers finish things off.
Pure class in the glass. 70% Chardonnay with the rest Pinot Noir, all from Rilly-la-Montagne. High acidity and medium body. Not quite laser like focus and clarity but damn close. All grapes included are classified as Premier Cru and it shows. Exceedingly dry and fresh.
On the crisp palate you’ll find pears, apples, and more plums. Freshly baked brioche bread, lemongrass, and fresh red fruit. Go get you some Grower Champagne, trust me on that. This one is absolutely striking in every sense. Drinking well now but will be better down the road. Everything in harmony here. — 23 days ago
Since my pallet doesn’t lean toward red burgundy’s when I find one that is awesome for me I have to rate it high. This is a good one. 100% Pinot noir — 23 days ago
