Castellu Di Baricci

Colombaio Montosoli Rosso di Montalcino DOC Sangiovese 2018

N: Beef, liquorice, some cedar, some mint, the woods.Tar and earth as it airs.
P: beef, tobacco, dirt, Cherries, but neither bright nor dark, a very harmonious package, med-light on the palate but substantial. Nice fairly long finish, bright but integrated acids and gentle tannins.
Perfect w linguine, tom, onion, and baby Swiss chard.
As it sits and airs, no decant, the tertiary flavors and tannins get bigger.

Loved this. Loved producer'a story about how his family looks to make Brunello more on the elegant side than the over extracted side. — 8 years ago

Classically built-up, but this version also include an expansive mid-palate, bursting with ripe, red berries, fresh sage and roasted herbs. Excellent, strict and precise finish, where tannins take centre stage, without loosing its pur fruit. Delicious. — 7 years ago
